About Us

Circle MC Fencing was established in the beginning of 2022. Prior to founding this business, Matthew, the owner, worked as a Diesel mechanic for 7 years at “Carolina Cat” in Greensboro. He valued his job, the work he did, and the investments he had made in turning wrenches. However, a life-changing event occurred with the tragic passing of his first wife, the mother of his two boys. In the midst of this hardship, he needed a change in life to accommodate his children’s needs. Consequently, he departed from Carolina Cat to explore fencing with someone he considered honest and a friend, only to quickly realize that wasn’t the case.

Matthew always had a desire to run his own business. During a significant moment, while opening his Bible at home, he stumbled upon the verse “do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the LORD your GOD will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). In that instance, he felt a sense of divine guidance encouraging him to become a business owner for the sake of his family. Thus, the idea of starting his own business began to take root.

Six months into building his own business, an unexpected opportunity arose when he met Tom Merritt, the original owner of a 32-year-old fence business called “Buffalo Fence Co.” Tom expressed interest in selling his fence company to Matthew. Although Matthew was still in the process of establishing his own business, Tom’s offer presented a compelling opportunity. Witnessing what Tom had built and created, Matthew couldn’t resist. In June of 2022, he purchased Buffalo Fence Co., which became the foundation for what is now known as Circle MC Fencing.
